Robin Williams was a guy that made everyone happy, it seemed, because he had such exuberance and energy. When I reached adulthood, it was a little overwhelming for me. His stand-up, early work and more “grown up” material never really resonated with me because it was so intensely energetic. For me, I consider Williams to be one of the better children’s actors of my lifetime, a place where high energy exuberance is a welcome trait. Here are three of the roles that I particularly loved Williams in as a child.
Peter Pan in “Hook”
Allan Parrish in “Jumanji”
The Genie in “Alladin”
RIP, Robin Williams, and my condolences to all of his fans
